HI 90

More than 16,000 spectra in under three seconds from a full-field cryogenic FPA.

HI 90 is a mid-IR hyperspectral imager with over 16,000 spectra per frame and detection across several kilometers.

HI 90 combines an FT-IR spectrometer with a cryogenically cooled focal-plane array for mid-IR hyperspectral imaging. Unlike point-scanning SIGIS 2, it records a full spectrum at every pixel simultaneously: more than 16,000 spectra in under three seconds versus 16 per second. This freezes moving gas plumes for emergency response.

The passive system needs no artificial light and operates over several kilometers. Its actively aligned plane-mirror interferometer supports a library of over 40 compounds standard and over 290 optionally. A separate HI 90 for Art Analysis version studies artworks; the system can also identify compounds on solid and liquid surfaces.
