HYPERION II

FT-IR and quantum-cascade-laser imaging in one research microscope at the diffraction limit.

HYPERION II combines FT-IR and QCL imaging, 64×64 or 128×128 FPA arrays, 3.5×–36× IR objectives and near- through far-IR coverage.

HYPERION II combines full-spectrum FT-IR microscopy with fast quantum-cascade-laser (QCL) infrared imaging. FT-IR collects a full spectrum per point at 0.1 mm²/s, while single-wavenumber ILIM images at 6.4 mm²/s. Researchers can find a region quickly by laser and then record its complete spectrum.

Unlike standalone LUMOS II, it connects to an INVENIO or VERTEX spectrometer. Available optics include 3.5×, 15× and 36× IR, 20× ATR, 15× grazing-incidence and 4×/40× visible objectives, spanning near to far IR. Detectors include three bandwidths of LN-MCT, TE-MCT and 64×64 or 128×128 FPA. Patented coherence reduction removes laser-imaging interference artifacts.

Applications range from cell/tissue imaging and pharmaceuticals to forensics, microplastics, polymers, semiconductors, materials and geology. QCL/ILIM is a HYPERION II configuration rather than a separate listed model; LUMOS II ILIM is a separate instrument.
