Bruker LUMOS II offers 1.25 µm ATR spatial resolution, 1.6 mm²/s imaging, liquid-nitrogen-free TE-MCT and cGMP/21 CFR Part 11 support.

LUMOS II combines an FT-IR spectrometer and microscope in one standalone instrument. It produces spectra and chemical images in transmission, reflection and ATR to identify microparticles, inclusions, film layers and surface regions. A motorized ATR crystal in the objective provides 1.25 µm spatial resolution.

FT-IR imaging covers 1.6 mm²/s; infrared laser imaging (ILIM) reaches 4.5 mm²/s over 1800–950 cm⁻¹, useful when scanning whole microplastic filters. Standard TE-MCT needs no liquid nitrogen. Sealed ZnSe optics need no dry-air/nitrogen purge and are ready immediately. Samples up to 40 mm high can be accessed over 270° from three sides.

OPUS with LUMOS II Wizard offers AI-based Adaptive Chemical Imaging (ACI), particle analysis and full audit trail. The system supports cGMP, GLP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and automated OQ/PQ tests against Ph. Eur., JP and USP. Applications include particles, surfaces, environmental microplastics, life sciences, forensics, polymers, conservation and pharmaceuticals.
