LUMOS II ILIM

Up to 62,400 spectra per second and 169 times the scanned area of conventional FT-IR imaging.

LUMOS II ILIM uses a 640×480 FPA, 4.25 µm pixels, 2.2 × 2.0 mm view and 950–1800 cm⁻¹ QCL source.

Bruker calls LUMOS II ILIM its fastest chemical imaging microscope. Its tunable quantum-cascade laser delivers enough power for microsecond detection, recording up to 62,400 spectra per second or 249,600 in four seconds.

The trade-off is a narrower 950–1800 cm⁻¹ fingerprint range. The 640 × 480 pixel array (versus 160 × 160 in FT-IR), 4.25 µm pixels and 2.2 × 2.0 mm field of view give 169 times the scanned area according to Bruker. This makes whole tissue sections, tablets and particle filters practical to scan.

Patented spatial coherence reduction suppresses interference artifacts. WinGuard provides Class 1 laser safety. OPUS includes TissuePlus, TabletPlus, ParticlePlus and Adaptive Chemical Imaging, with an automated OQ/PQ validation plate included.
