microflex LRF is a benchtop MALDI-TOF with linear and reflectron modes, 15,000 resolving power, a 60 Hz nitrogen laser and AnchorChip technology.

microflex LRF is a benchtop MALDI-TOF system described by the manufacturer as a powerful instrument in its class. The LRF designation reflects its linear and reflectron operating modes, both available in positive and negative ion polarity.

Resolving power is 15,000. The instrument does not offer full TOF/TOF; instead, automated post-source decay analysis (autoPSD) with precursor ion selection supports basic structural confirmation. Applications include determining the molecular-weight distribution of synthetic polymers up to 500 kDa.

The microScout source uses a target one quarter the size of a microtitre plate. AnchorChip technology concentrates the sample at the deposition spot and, according to the manufacturer, increases sensitivity by a factor of 10–100 compared with conventional steel targets. The oil-free vacuum system has a 70 L/s turbomolecular pump and a low-noise mode.
