RAM II

1064 nm excitation largely avoids fluorescence across a 3600–50 cm⁻¹ Stokes range.

RAM II is a dual-channel FT-Raman module with a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser, InGaAs and nitrogen-cooled germanium detectors.

RAM II is a dual-channel FT-Raman module for Bruker INVENIO and VERTEX research FT-IR spectrometers. Its 1064 nm excitation avoids many electronic transitions that cause fluorescence, enabling Raman measurements of colored substances, biological material and natural feedstocks where 532 or 785 nm excitation fails.

The 3600–50 cm⁻¹ Stokes range includes stretching and low-frequency skeletal/lattice modes. Raman and IR have complementary selection rules. A room-temperature InGaAs detector handles routine work; a nitrogen-cooled germanium detector detects weaker signals. Detector electronics are 24-bit.

OPUS switches automatically between FT-Raman and FT-IR. Options include autosamplers, low/high-temperature accessories, RamanScopeIII microscopy, SENTERRA II compatibility and photoluminescence. Uses include materials, polymers, pharmaceuticals, incoming materials and research.
