solariX

High-field FT-ICR workhorse with magnets up to 15 T for petroleum and other ultracomplex mixtures.

solariX offers 7, 12 and 15 T FT-ICR configurations, resolving power above 10 million and mass accuracy down to 250 ppb.

solariX is Bruker's high-field magnetic resonance mass spectrometry platform. Available with 7, 12 or 15 T magnets, it achieves resolving power above 10 million in every configuration. Mass accuracy improves from 600 ppb at 7 T to 250 ppb at 15 T.

Its principal application is ultracomplex mixtures containing tens of thousands of components, including petroleum and dissolved natural organic matter. MRMS, the ParaCell and magnetron-motion control enable routine access to isotopic fine structure across a broad mass range, separating ions whose isotopic composition differs despite the same nominal mass.

ESI is standard. Options include a dual ESI/MALDI source with a smartbeam-II laser and ETD fragmentation. Unlike scimaX, solariX requires annual cryogen refills and a quench line. For imaging, solariX XR is specified to exceed 200,000 resolving power at m/z 800 at a 1 Hz scan rate.
