Analyte Excite

Core system with a homogenized beam, flat-bottomed craters and spot sizes from 1 µm.

Analyte Excite combines a 193 nm ArF laser with sub-4 ns pulses, 32 apertures, 1–155 µm spots and a HelEx II cell.

Analyte Excite is the base 193 nm excimer laser ablation system, using the same laser engine as Excite+. It is positioned as the range's value option.

Compared with Excite+, it has 32 rather than 64 apertures and a 155 rather than 245 µm maximum spot. Compared with Analyte HE, it has shorter pulses (below 4 versus below 20 ns) and higher repetition rates (up to 300 versus 20 Hz), but lower maximum fluence (15 versus 50 J/cm²).

A flat-top diffractive homogenizer produces flat-bottomed craters and high sensitivity in spatially resolved analysis. The open optical path can be nitrogen purged, and the gas cabinet is sealed. The dual-volume HelEx II cell washes out to 0.1% within one second. A vibration-damped granite-and-steel base supports a submicron-resolution stage with 100 × 100 mm XY and 50 mm Z travel.
